If there’s one thing you need to know about Kathryn, it’s that she doesn’t just play badminton—she lives, breathes, and dreams of having just that one more beautiful badminton racket with colorful strings. A self-proclaimed "badminton nerd" with more than a decade on the court, Kathryn’s love for the game goes way past casual play into delightfully nerdy territory.

Before founding ShuttleVerse, Kathryn ran one of the largest badminton leagues in the city at SmashCity, keeping Calgary's local scene active, competitive, and connected. Her deep dive into racket physics, string tensions, and gear technology means she can talk about grommets, gauge thicknesses, and tension retention for hours (and she gladly will if you let her!).

Kathryn started ShuttleVerse to bring that exact same obsession and care to Calgary’s stringing community. When you hand your racket over to ShuttleVerse, you’re not just getting a restring—you’re getting it handled by someone who cares about your sweet spot just as much as you do.

Nick hit his first shuttlecock at 9 years old and simply never stopped. In fact, badminton isn’t just his favorite sport—it’s literally the only sport he plays. Wins, losses, or questionable line calls don't sweat him; Nick is in it purely for the thrill of the rally and the joy of the journey. If you’ve stepped onto a badminton court anywhere in Calgary, there’s a very high chance you’ve already played him (or he’s currently trying to challenge you to a match).

When he’s not on the court connecting with players of all skill levels, Nick is behind the screen as ShuttleVerse’s resident "code monkey." He built the entire ShuttleVerse online ticketing platform from scratch to make getting your racket strung as smooth as a perfect drop shot.
